From The Rector's Desk

From the Rector’s Desk – St Mary’s Kingsburgh – 5 March 2021

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is with great anticipation that we await the details of how the Elective Assembly will be conducted and how we can then move forward as a Diocese. I ask you to continue to pray for the candidates and for the Elective Assembly and especially for our Vicar General, in these trying times.

With a return to Level 1 of the Lockdown regulations, we do hope to see an increase in the number of people returning to Sunday Worship. As St Paul exhorts us “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.”

While our online services are still a wonderful way to worship together, many are not able to join us online and we hope to see you back at physical gatherings of in-person services.

We are developing a Telephone ministry and each of you has been assigned to a Church Councillor, who will make contact with you to improve dialogue and to support you better during this time. If anyone wishes to become involved with the counselling or prayer ministry, please contact me.

I trust that your Lenten journey is bearing fruit and that your prayer life is deepening your relationship with God, our God is faithful!   I do pray that the morning ‘Build me an Ark’ series and the evening meditations are resonating with you and I encourage you to spend time each day listening to God, through scripture, through meditations, through others, through nature and through events in your lives. God has the first word, and our life is a response.

May God bless, guard, guide and keep you.

Fr. Andrew
